Kate's Kards
Sunday, 8 April 2012
Well I'm beginning to think I should give up on this blogging malarky as I only seem to post every now and again when I am feeling upto it. I'm still having numerous appointments to try and figure out what the problem is but we're not getting anywhere fast although I have finally come of my anti depressants (Dr put me on them because he thought they would help me lose weight, not for depression, if only!)I did have some amazing news at one of my other appointments following me yearly MRI scan the Dr informed me that the tumour had not grown anymore, if anything he thinks it has reduced slightly in size.
Any way, I have been making cards as and when I am having a good day and thought I would let you have a peek at them, a number of them have been orders which is great as it means more money for The Christie, YAY!!
These are few I have made using the Hot Diggity Dog range, which I have to say I am loving at the mo, the images are fab! Some of them use the papers from the range and others are bits from my stash.
Here are a few using Hunkydory products which I just love...

Sorry it's been a while, unfortunately since my last post I have not been feeling 100%. Have done very little crafting but have spent a lot of time just mooching through the docrafts gallery trying to inspire myself. However, it seems to be taking more and more for that to happen as the problems with my energy get worse. I get increasingly frustrated by the lack of energy to do anything.
I am off on a little break this weekend to Centre Parcs. Another trip arranged by The Christie for current and recent patients. This weekend is a conference as well as a social event, but I just love the name of it, are you ready! In shorthand it is the FYSOT conference but its full title is the Find Your Sense of Tumour conference... not bad eh!
I will try and post next week with some pics, until then though...

Well its been a while since I have posted and I wish I could say that I have been busy crafting during this time but unfortunately I haven't. In addition to the numerous hospital appointments I've had, my energy levels have once again plummeted and I am struggling to get through the day. This in turn impacts upon my crafting as find it difficult to motivate myself as well as struggling to find inspiration for making cards. I am supposed to be doing a craft class for the young patients in the Christie Hospital on Tuesday but have found it difficult to create anything so I can go in with some ideas. I do hope things improve by Tuesday... moan over.

Well its done!
After the frustration of yesterday, I decided to have a go at making the hiker card. After seeing the card made with this image I decided to try out distressing using Tim Holtz ink pad and a blending tool, I must say I am rather impressed with the outcome.
The stamped image is from the Papermaina Nostalgia range. Stamped and Blended with Tim Holtz Distress ink - Brushed Coduroy. I used papers, ribbon and peel offs which I had in my stash, plus Craftwork cards greeting.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my projects.

For the love of cardmaking... or not
Well I have to say I never thought being asked to make a card for someones son would be such a difficult task. I had been asked if I could make one which would represent one of his intrests, eg. walking, cycling, skiing (outdoorsy stuff). Thinking it would be straightforward I obliged not realising that in fact it was going to be a rather difficult task. I have spent the day out and about trying to find something suitable. After lots of walking round the shops, and travelling between them I came across a decoupage for a walker, only to find that it was for a female, so the search continued. Once again I though I was in look when I noticed a card that had been made using a stamped image of a hiker, so I went to the desk to see if they had, only to be told that they no longer stocked this item... So off to the next place and after searching high and low we managed to find this stamp so I can now get cracking (well i think it will be tomorrow now, i'm exhausted)
I will post a pic of the card when I finally get it done so watch this space...

1st Christmas Card of the Year - Snoflake Challenge
This year I decided to get ahead with my Christmas cards, as a member of the DoCrafts site I have in the past years seen the Snoflake Christmas card challenge but unfortunately I've never been in a position to take part in it. So this year I decided I would give it a go and see how I went on, so here it is my first Christmas card for 2012.

Its been quite a while since I have been on here, as I am new to blogs things tend to take me longer to work out but I have actually had very little time to play. Hopefully in the New Year I will be able to get back to it.
Been making loads of Christmas cards and although I am very pleased with the amount of money I have managed to raise through them, I am fed up of just making xmas cards and can't wait to get back to making some others.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year!
Here are some pictures of the cards i've made.

Bag a Bargain
Well, as I was saying earlier after finding DB outlet in Oswaldtwistle I have had a number of visits and managed to get many a bargains but none more so than what I came home with after I had been to one of the shops 'bag a bargain sales' (apparently they are quite well known, why am I always last to find these things though?)
Anyway you pay £10, get given a bag and you fill it with as much as you can get in from all the boxes they put out (and keep filling).
Here's what i 'bagged' (well there was some more but i couldn't fit it all on my desk lol)

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!!!
Well, my brand new blog, its taken me ages to set up (doesn't help when your computer decided to freeze when you are trying to save). Not really sure what I am doing but, I'm sure i'll learn as I go.
I have started making my Christmas cards and gift tags (nearly 1000 tags to make)so that they are ready for when people want to start thinking about Christmas.
Although I must say I got a little distracted playing with this, ooops!!
Well thats all for now, just thought I would have a play.
